Slowpoke Espresso – Melbourne eats.

Is there such a thing as late brunching? Well……I say there is. So yeah, that obviously makes it official. LOL.

Annnnnyway……brunching/lunching/partaking in food, whatever you want to call it……I was eating at a cafe today.

Enter Slowpoke Espresso. With a menu emphasising organic and local produce, this adorable little cafe impressed right from the start.

The interior was wonderfully eclectic, with good use of smaller and larger tables, maximising the space provided. With alfresco dining towards the back, I gotta remember to return during the warmer months.

Sitting there, I can honestly say, I haven’t felt this comfortable in a cafe for quite a while. The staff were super friendly, and despite being my first visit, made me feel right at home.

In fact, want proof I was so comfortable?? I utterly eluded the fact that I needed to take a menu photo….YOU KNOW, because it’s what food bloggers do. SO YEAH, I ordered the three grain porridge #foodbloggerfail.

MARVELLOUS – the porridge was completely and utterly mouthwatering. Velvety smooth and oh so creamy, the inclusion of walnuts, and a healthy dose of spices, gave the dish a taste and texture that was quite spellbinding. One of the best in Melbourne? Uh YEAH.

People of Melbourne, I can’t recommend this place enough. For something a little less mainstream, and a little more authentic, Slowpoke Espresso is an absolute hero. One of my favourites, without question.

Until next time, happy noms 🙂
