Walk Don’t Run – Melbourne eats.
Damn, Melbourne has a strong brunch game. With cafes opening left, right and centre, Melburnian’s are ridiculously spoilt for choice. As a foodie, one of the most satisfying experiences is when one discovers a true HIDDEN GEM.
Whilst the interior is smallish, the design is extremely clever. Offering indoor and outdoor tables, I was impressed from the moment I walked in. Saaaah cute and eclectic, offering a smooth playlist, and welcoming staff.
With options like raw organic granola, and chilled organic green tea soba noodles, the menu is designed around ‘mindful eating. I’d heard good things about their house made ‘life loaf’ – made from almond meal, coconut flour, dates and mixed nuts and seeds, so I was keen to give it a try.
House made ‘life loaf’ (GF) – with hot smoked salmon, labneh and matcha $17.00.
I don’t usually order bread or toast for brunch – I find it mundane. But today I was willing to make an exception, and OH MAAAH GAWD I’m so glad I did. The life loaf was insanely delicious – offering balanced flavours, and addictive textures. So fresh and flavoursome, the amalgamation of smoked salmon, labneh and the subtle hints of matcha, made it an extremely pleasing dish. Well worth trying.
The staff were brilliant – friendly, efficient, with good knowledge of the menu.
Amaradale, you have yourself a hidden gem. Walk Don’t Run is an absolute winner!
Until next time, happy noms 🙂
